Rivers State Sole Administrator Makes Key Board Appointments
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retired), on Wednesday announced the appointment of chairmen and members for eight boards in the state.
At the Rivers State University Governing Council, former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) president, Okey Wali, will serve as chairman.
For the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Sampson Parker, a former state commissioner for health, was named chairman, while the Chief Medical Director, Chizindu Alikor, retains his position.
Samuel Nwanosike, an ally of former governor Nyesom Wike and immediate past chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, will head the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, with Wokoma Amakiri appointed as managing director.
Other appointments include:
- Samuel Ogeh – Chairman, Rivers State Universal Basic Education Commission
- Tony Egwurugwu – Chairman, Rivers State Senior Secondary Education Board
- Israel Egbunefu – Chairman, Rivers State Internal Revenue Service
- Princewill Chike – Chairman, Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme
- Vetty Agala – Executive Secretary, Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (retained)
- Adolphus Toby – Chairman, Rivers State Microfinance Agency (with five appointed members)
The appointments were confirmed by Ibibia Worika, Secretary to the State Government, who noted that a date for the swearing-in ceremony will be announced later.
